The Happiest Place on Earth Raising the Barr Weekly Memo: Issue 397

The NBA has created an artificial bubble in Disney World, Orlando, that tightly contains the team players, coaches, managers and necessary people in order to maintain a virus free environment. They eat, sleep, socialize and most importantly workout and practice within that bubble for the upcoming basketball season. It’s hard to imagine that such an endeavor is even remotely possible in that theme park, an imaginary world of make believe and fantasy fondly known as the “happiest place on earth.”

During the pandemic, many of us have created our own bubbles which we share with our closest family. Little by little, some are expanding that bubble to allow for carefully distanced socializing with other family members and friends. We’re trying to create our own happiest place on earth while continuing to live carefully and continue to enjoy our lives and grow our businesses.

I have been spending much more time connecting with my clients via phone and especially via virtual, face to face meetings than I had in the past. They tell me that they feel uplifted, energized and filled with new insights and renewed optimism after our talks, which translates into revitalized conversations and creativity with their own clients and family. Many have reported increased productivity and success during this time where studies are reporting majorly increased depression and anxiety among the general population.

Living in our bubbles can be a positive force in our lives right now. It’s up to each one of us to create our own “happiest place on earth” by staying healthy, focused and connecting with others to boost our potential, creativity, joy and impact on others.
