What Do You Do? Raising the Barr Weekly Memo: Issue No. 54

This week’s reflection point: If I were to ask you: “what do you do?” how would you answer the question? If you answer this quickly, effectively and with great confidence, you may wish to skip reading the rest of this post. Otherwise, read on.

I am astonished at how many people to whom I ask that question, can’t seem to quickly articulate an effective, interesting and persuasive answer. The key here is to figure out what is the essence of your business. In other words, how do you help contribute to the success of your clients?

If you were to ask me what do I do, here are some answers that come to mind:

  • I help create tomorrow’s thought leaders
  • I create global digital empires for my clients as well as myself
  • I help my clients leverage the web to transform their business success

This week’s tip: Identify what it is that you do, internalize it so you can always answer the question quickly and articulately when asked.
