Room for Improvement Raising the Barr Weekly Memo: Issue No. 32

This week’s reflection point: Last night I booked my airline ticket to travel to Orlando to observe the Jewish New Year and holidays with my children and grandchildren. The Jewish holiday dates are governed by the lunar calendar therefore no fixed dates are possible from year to year. This New Year comes extremely early this year just a day after Labor Day.

Unlike our civil New Year and the Chinese New Year, which are days of celebrations and parties, the religious year is marked with introspection and reflection. It is our chance to look inward and judge ourselves as to where we could have improved and where we have fallen short in our personal and even professional lives.

As the year 5774 nears I encourage you to challenge yourself to examine where you were and where you would like to be. In love, friendship, in business and in your business relationships, what could you have done better?

This week’s tip: There’s always room for improvement and there’s no better time than now to take inventory and chart out a course for the future.
