This week’s reflection point: In a recent conversation with a prospective client I asked them the following questions:

  • How would you describe the essence of your business?
  • What does success look like and what needs to happen to make this a remarkable year?
  • What’s your business strategy?
  • What is your value proposition statement describing how you help your clients?
  • Who are your buyers, where are they located, what do they read, watch, listen to and attend?
  • What are some of the distinguishing factors between you and others competing in your market space?
  • What is one of your clients’ top challenges and can you quickly recommend three powerful ways of resolving them?
  • Describe your intellectual property and your plans to increase it significantly.
  • What are your remarkable and valuable offerings that make you irresistible?
  • Do you have a marketing plan?

It is not uncommon for me to hear either silence on the other end or an extremely weak attempt to answer such questions.

These are the kind of questions I help my clients get a handle on before we put together their business and web strategy in order to achieve powerful web presence results. In essence, the web project becomes a transformational process that facilitates one’s business transformation.

This week’s tip: Whatever stage your business is in, it’s important to answer these questions. Doing so will become the stepping-stone to transforming your business.
