Focus Raising the Barr Weekly Memo: Issue No. 127

This week’s reflection point: As part of our digital empire creation program, I’m privileged to spend great quality time with my many brilliant clients when they come to my studio to create video content for their sites. Many of them spend days and weeks in meticulous preparation making sure the written content to be loaded on the teleprompter is perfect.

Others take a very different approach; without the use of a teleprompter, the inner muse flows organically as the camera rolls. Either way, focus is critical.

According to dictionary.com there are many meanings of the word focus. Here are a few:

  • To bring to a focus or into focus; cause to converge on a perceived point
  • To concentrate: to focus one’s thoughts
  • To become focused: on a central point, attraction, attention or activity
  • To direct one’s attention or efforts

Whether focusing on client issues, personal issues or in preparation of developing content for an e-book, a podcast, or a video, focusing on the major point desired to convey is a process that often requires complete silence, background music or finding the right mentor to draw it out of you.

This week’s tip: What tools do you use to focus on a task at hand? If you’re feeling stuck, why not try a new technique and let it flow! And if you are still stuck, call the only mentor, me!

Raising the Barr is a weekly memo, which is always pithy, powerful and succinct. It focuses on innovative ideas by maximizing your life and business while leveraging strategy, content, technology and the web, to help you transform the success.
