Discover the Next Big Thing One Page at a Time Raising the Barr Weekly Memo: Issue 257

I love reading or listening to books. Some have made a profound impact on me, others have captured my heart and imagination, and some have even changed my life. I am astonished that many don’t read and don’t even have the interest or desire to read.

I find that books provide me the ability to:

  • Understand the mind of the author and meet geniuses of history as well as our time
  • Grasp the mindset of that time particular in history
  • Increase my knowledge, intellectual firepower and wisdom

My goal is to read or listen to a book a week or about 50 a year as I hope you do the same. If you are already book reader, kudos to you. If not, I encourage and challenge you to get started.

Although I could easily list hundreds of books, here is the list of my top 12:

  1. High Performance Habits
  2. The One Thing
  3. Peak
  4. Grit
  5. The War of Art
  6. The Miracle Morning for Entrepreneurs
  7. Long Walk to Freedom
  8. Originals
  9. A Curious Mind
  10. The Lion’s Gate
  11. The Wright Brothers
  12. Small is the New Big

I am curious what are some of your favorite books that have made a profound impact on you. Would love to hear from you.

I am challenging all of you to commit to reading a book a week and sharing your key takeaways on your blog or your platform of choice. Happy reading!
